Classroom Management Tools

     I have checked the 13 great teacher-friendly resources provided to me in module 7.  The first application I chose to mention and which caught my attentions is “Remind”.  This application is easy to sign up for all I had to do was give my name and email.  Looking through this application I find it extremely helpful and easy to use.  Very organized and useful, I am able to have different categories or “classes” that I can send reminders or alerts to.  It gives me a personal code to send to parents for that specific class.  Also, families can send me a message.

     I find this application extremely useful as well as helpful in my future classroom.  With technology advancing in today’s world, I won’t be surprised to see the majority of my students with cellphones.  I would use this application for my students as well.  Both families and students can stay updated and in contact with me 24/7.  Although it is “normal” to see many people with cellphones and what have you, as educators we must keep in mind not everyone will have access to technology and/or Internet.  So that being said, I would use this application keeping in mind that it will be an optional choice.

     The next application that struck my attention is “Go Soap Box”.  Signing up was fast and simple.  Getting to know this site, I saw how awesome this application would be in the classroom.  Students don’t need to sign up or make an account unless the teacher wants them too, and then there will be a code the teacher will give the student.  This application gives a variety of great tools to use, which will get all of your students involved and participating.  The one thing I found interesting was that the student may work “anonymously”.  Also, the “confusion barometer” is a great way to see just how many students don’t understand what they need to know.  This application really gets statistics involved!  You can have a classroom poll started.  I can already think of 50 different ways this can be used!  This application is great when it comes to setting up a quick quiz and having students complete it.  This application is just an all around great educational source for teachers.  Great way to get your students to participate and be engaged in the classroom!
