Index Cards

The first index card is an example of using index cards for spelling words.  Students will fill out the index cards and submit them.
The second index card is an example of “The End of the Week” memory card.  This is a neat idea of using index cards for students to fill out their best classroom memory at the end of each week.  Save these! Put together a small index card book (keepsake) of all their memories for them to keep!

  1. I love both of these ideas!!!! I love that they can write out their spelling word, the definition, and an example. Maybe depending on the size of the desk you could have them keep their cards in like a coupon holder thing and they could refer back to them anytime they needed to. Love the idea of putting together some kind of class book at the end of the year. Great job!

  3. Monique,

Great ideas! I like how you created a way for students to go beyond memorizing how to spell their words. This assignment gives them opportunity to find out what the word means and how to use it. This makes the information practical instead of just letters put together. I also really like your classbook idea. Many parents like to keep some momentos for the school year.
